Metro Energy Solutions Hired by The Atlantic City Convention Center
to Oversee the Installation of the Largest Rooftop Solar System in
the Country

Atlantic City, New Jersey – Metro Energy Solutions today
announced that they will be project managing the installation of a 2
MW rooftop solar system for the Atlantic City Convention Center (ACCC).
As part of the New Jersey State energy consulting contract in
conjunction with Gabel Associates of Highland Park, Gable Associates
and Metro Energy Solutions were initially hired to conduct a solar
feasibility study, prepare the NJ Office of Clean Energy rebate
submittal package and undertake a competitive procurement process to
solicit proposals from companies who specialize in the design,
construction, operation and maintenance of solar systems. This
resulted in the ACCC entering into a 20 year power purchase
agreement with Pepco Energy Services to complete the installation by
December 2008. As part of the project Pepco Energy Services is also
required to complete roofing upgrades per roofing manufacturer GAF
to extend the warranty of the existing roofs. The solar system will
provide
first year solar generation output of 2,997,031 KWH/year at a fixed
rate of $.103 per kWh, which includes the cost of the roofing
upgrades. The project is estimated to save the ACCC over $140,860
in year 1 resulting in over $4.3 million in total project savings
over 25 years including the roofing upgrades.
