Metro Energy Solutions Launches Solar Initiative with the Bergen
County Improvement Authority
February
26, 2007, Hackensack, NJ – Metro Energy Solutions together
with the Bergen County Improvement Authority (“BCIA”) have initiated
a solar power initiative in Bergen County. The program is available
to any public entity within Bergen County to include municipalities,
schools and water/wastewater treatment facilities.
In order to take
part in the solar initiative an entity would contact the BCIA and in
turn Metro Energy would schedule a site visit in order to complete a
feasibility study. Once the study was complete Metro Energy would
prepare a report that would outline project costs, annual energy and
maintenance savings, and a life cycle cost analysis for a
photovoltaic (solar) power system that would also include low cost
financing and available grant and rebate monies.
To date, a
combination of 16 municipalities, schools and a wastewater treatment
plant have taken part in the initial phase of the program. Once
financing is secured Metro Energy will prepare bid specifications
for the installation of the solar projects and provide construction
management and oversight of the rebate programs. The projects are
anticipated to come on line in the first quarter of 2008.
