Metro Energy Solutions Announces Agreement with Christian Health Care
Center
West Caldwell, NJ – April 30, 2003
– Metro Energy Solutions announced today it has entered into an agreement
with Christian Health Care Center, located in Wyckoff, New Jersey.
The agreement calls for Metro Energy Solutions to perform preliminary engineering
for all energy and maintenance savings opportunities throughout Christian
Health Care Center’s facilities, including cogeneration. Once the
preliminary engineering report is completed, Christian Health Care Center
will determine which opportunities it wants to implement through Metro
Energy Solutions.
“We contacted Kevin Stagg, CFO of
Christian Health Care Center, to explain the financial impact of electric
deregulation in New Jersey beginning August 1st of this year,” stated Robert
Ragozine, COO of Metro Energy Solutions. “We explained there were
several options Christian Health should explore to reduce their operating
expenses and mitigate the impact of the rate increases. Otherwise,
they were going to be subjected to a 20% to 30% increase in their electric
utility costs, at a time when most organizations can not afford it.”
Christian Health Care Center (CHCC)
was founded in 1911 by a group of deacons from local Reformed and Christian
Reformed Churches. CHCC provides high quality, family-centered elder-care
and mental health services in a compassionate and loving environment consistent

Elder-care services include Heritage Manor, a 252-bed nursing home; The
Longview, an 80-unit assisted-living facility; Christian Health Care Adult
Day Services; Hillcrest Residence, a 39-bed residence for independent seniors;
and Evergreen Court, a complex of 40 apartments for independent seniors.
Mental-health services include Ramapo Ridge Psychiatric Hospital, Christian
Health Care Counseling Center, Southgate, a special-care 40-bed inpatient
nursing facility, Advent Counseling Centers, and Pathways, a partial-hospitalization
program to treat adults who experience both a developmental disability
and a co-existing psychiatric disorder.
