Metro Energy Solutions Announces Contract with Orange Housing
Authority for a Cogeneration System
NEW JERSEY- May, 2003- Metro Energy
Solutions, a full-service energy services and consulting company, announced
it has entered into an energy purchase agreement with the City of Orange
Housing Authority, Orange, New Jersey to provide electricity and hot water
at a discount. Metro Energy Solutions developed a cogeneration project
whereby Metro Energy will own and operate a 65-75 kW cogeneration system
for the purpose of displacing a portion of the Housing Authority's electricity
and thermal load for energy cost savings.
The proposed cogeneration project
scope incorporated (1) 65 - 75 Kilowatt cogeneration module, associated
heat exchangers, electrical interconnect switchgear, microprocessor controls
and an acoustic and thermal enclosure. The cogeneration system was
designed to produce electricity and hot water only. The sizing for the
cogeneration system is based primarily upon the building's average hot
water requirement.
The Orange Housing Authority had
to make no capital investment, all costs for the cogeneration system were
borne by Metro Energy Solutions. "These projects are a win-win scenario
for all parties involved" stated President and CEO of Metro Energy Solutions'
Dominick Aiello. "The Orange Housing Authority gets some price stability
and guaranteed savings and Metro Energy creates a long-term relationship
and energy supply partnership with the Authority", Aiello continued.
For
the next 12 years the Orange Housing Authority will receive a guaranteed 12%
discount on all electric and thermal energy provided by the cogeneration system.
The new 65-75 kW cogeneration unit will provide approximately 505,000 kWh per
year for the term of the agreement and over $65,000 in energy cost savings. |
