Metro Energy Solutions Announces Completion of Energy Efficiency Projects with Leading Men's Retailer Syms CorporationNEW JERSEY- May 2004 – Metro Energy Solutions today announced it has completed a lighting retrofit of Syms Corporation’s Secaucus, NJ corporate offices, warehouse and stores to energy efficient standards. Syms Corporation, a leading men’s clothing retailer contracted Metro Energy Solutions, a full-service energy services company, to upgrade their existing lighting system, reduce their energy costs through energy efficiency and obtain any utility incentives available. Metro Energy Solutions retrofitted 994 inefficient lighting fixtures with 994 energy efficient lighting fixtures and installed occupancy sensors throughout the facility. Metro Energy Solutions worked with the New Jersey SmartStart Buildings Program to capture the available utility incentives for this project. Syms Corporation self financed this project and will be able to achieve a 2.82 year payback due to the energy savings and utility incentives that Metro Energy Solutions was able to obtain for them. “Syms Corporation was looking for ways to reduce their operating costs while improving the lighting of its facility and the energy savings and utility incentives that Metro Energy was able to obtain for us, has made this project a success in achieving our goals” stated Allen Brailsford, Syms Executive Vice President of Operations.
