Metro Energy Solutions was retained as the general contractor by Trump Properties to engineer/design and project manage the installation of various mechanical and electrical energy conservation measures as well as water conservation measures at the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Metro Energy performed an investment grade facility assessment to determine the scope of work and calculate the energy, water, operation and maintenance savings that would be achieved by the installation of the energy and water conservation measures. The mechanical and electrical scope of work included: Lighting, Demand Controlled Ventilation ("DCV"), Air Handling Units with Variable Speed Drives, Heat Recovery Systems, Variable Air Volume Controls on Kitchen Hood Exhaust Fans, Water Source Heat Pumps, Window Film, Variable Speed Drives on Energy Efficient Motors and new Pumps. The measures also included the installation of a State of the Art In-Room Intelligent Thermostat Controls System. The water conservation measures included the installation of; Low Flow (1.6 gallon) Toilets, Shower Heads and Sink Aerators.. Other technologies that were identified and still under consideration for installation included: Escalator Motor Voltage Controller, Cool/Green Roof and Transformer Upgrades. The total cost of the project was $4.9M with annual savings of $2.3M in the first year. The utility rebate for the installation of the energy conservation measures was $200,000. |
