Mount Saint Dominic Academy was founded in 1892 by the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell to bring their Catholic and Dominican tradition of education to Essex County and the surrounding area.

Since its inception Mount Saint Dominic has always investigated ways to improve the learning environment of its students through cost effective solutions. Metro Energy Solutions was retained to upgrade their existing lighting system and reduce their energy costs through the installation of an energy efficient lighting system designed specifically to meet the needs of an educational facility. Metro Energy Solutions was responsible for obtaining utility incentives through the New Jersey Smart Start Building Program that helped offset the costs of the project.

The project included retrofitting (275) inefficient lighting fixtures with energy efficient lighting fixtures throughout the school ensuring light levels meet New Jersey State Code.
